SUMMARY:RYA Level 2 Powerboat Handling Course
DESCRIPTION:The 2026 RYA Level 2 Powerboat Handling Course at LESC will be held from Friday evening on 15 May until Sunday evening 17 May. \n\n\n\nCourse Description   Provides the skills and background knowledge needed by the competent powerboat driver and is the basis of the International Certificate of Competence. It aims to teach boat handling and seamanship in powerboats. It focuses on low speed close quarters handling\, man overboard recovery\, an introduction to driving at planing speed\, and collision regulations. The course can be taken at an inland or coastal location. It may be conducted in a variety of boat types\, both planing and displacement. DESCRIPTION:The 2026 LESC Shoreline Challenge will take place on Friday\, June 26\, 2026\, for the keelboat fleet only with a 1400 start time. \nThe keelboat fleet have a varied calendar for members’ only racing and cruising alike that take them further afield than regular events including down to Lochearnhead\, round every mark\, and on a sunset cruise. The Lochearnhead Regatta is a particular highlight because the fleet demonstrate their anchoring skills (or lack thereof) and go ashore for lunch.

DESCRIPTION:LESC’s Training Week Dinghy Sailing Courses are the club’s premiere learn-to-sail event open to members and non-members. Courses cover RYA Dinghy Sailing Youth Stages 1-4\, Adult Levels 1-3\, and Advanced Courses that are built as needed based on applications. No experience necessary; minimum age of 8 years required. Format is predominantly afloat but with some classroom elements. \n\nRegistration on Monday from 0830-0930; Courses run M-F 0930-1630.
